Marketplace fraud

It's time for a new phone, and you're looking at options on Marketplace? The prices may be tempting, but on such a platform, you're not safe from unpleasant surprises.

A report on Radio-Canada's La Facture featured the misadventures of Marketplace buyers who had purchased a "new" iPhone at a discount, only to discover that they were fake iPhones.

Furthermore, you don't know the real condition of a phone by looking at it for just a few minutes, and there's no warranty that comes with your Marketplace purchase. It could have hidden defects like intermittent bugs or a microphone problem that you wouldn't notice during the exchange with the seller.

If the offer is too good to be true, it's usually not a good sign.

When you buy from Top notch, not only is the phone you buy inspected by our experts, but it also comes with a 6-month warranty. So there are no nasty surprises. What's more, you have 15 days to change your mind if you're not satisfied with your choice of phone.
